  1. I'm kind of stuck on the homework that Chemistry I was given on Friday.
    4. the half-life of co-60 is 5.26 years. if 50g are left after 15.8 years, how many grams were in the original sample?
How do I find out the answer to that?

  2. Use the problem #5 on the practice worksheet to do the problem. If you have the half life determine how many half-lives are in the fraction (5.26/15.8) and then take the amount left over (50g) divided by the fraction and that will give you the original amount.

    Hope this helps.
